Are Presbyterians Christians? Yup. Just like Methodists or Catholics, we worship God the creator, the son and the Holy Spirit. We just have a weird sounding (and difficult to spell) name.
Can I be a part — or can I just check things out? Yes, there are lots of places and groups that might be just right for you and to help you grow in Jesus! You’re also welcome to visit and poke around as much as you’d like. We’d enjoy getting to know you.
Can I get married here even if I’m not a member? Yes, you don’t have to be member of the congregation, though a church family is a great environment for a marriage to grow — and a church is an absolutely fantastic place for kids! Couples interested in a wedding meet with one of the pastors for an opportunity to think about how to keep your relationship healthy and fun.
What’s up with that name? What’s it mean? Presbuteros is from the original language of the New Testament. It’s pronounced “prez-b00-ter-oz, which in English means “an elder.” The word refers to how we Presbyterians make decisions, which is through a group of men and women elected and called to be “elders.” BTW: these leaders can be any age these days, though old habits are hard to break and we still refer to them as the church “elders.”
