Jesus:4EAE

Youth Groups

Jesus:4EAE (Jr. and Sr. Highs) and Jesus’ Friends (4th through 6th grades) have a fun (and busy) month’s worth of ministry and fellowship.  We’ll catch a movie, have our usual blend of fun and study, and make some plans in about being a part of the Souper Bowl of Caring and in welcoming another Presbyterian youth group that’ll be camping out at our place in February.  Here are the specifics.

6:00 – 6:45

Jesus’ Friends

6:45 – 7:15

Adventure Ringers

7:15 – 8:00

Jesus:4EAE

We’ll be using our usual schedule for 2008 when we meet on January 6 and on January 13, which is on the table immediately to the right.  Jesus’ Friends will talk about a new year, relationships and Jesus:4EAE will talk about new resolutions and dating disasters.

On January 20, volunteers will meet for a pizza lunch, from Noon to 1:00 pm.  There are two volunteer teams.  One will be working on ways we can raise money for “The Souper Bowl of Caring,” which is a nationwide youth movement to combat hunger.  The other team will talk about ways to roll out the red carpet for a youth group who will be camping out at our church on Presidents’ weekend.  The group, who will be skiing while in Cortland, are from Central Presbyterian Church in Dowingtown, Pennsylvania.

Also on January 20, both groups will kick back and catch kind of a neat film.  It’s “the Ultimate Gift.”  The film has a rating of PG, for thematic elements, some violence and language (there is one scary scene in the film).  It’s about a young man inheriting a fortune, and more importantly, learning to turn his life around.  At any rate, we’ll have plenty of popcorn, and have the movie up on the big screen.  The fun starts at 7:00, and we’ll be at the Medfords.

January 27, will see a return to the usual schedule.  We’ll have some fun with football related games and silliness, as well as the experience and needs of pro ball players.  And looking ahead, the following Sunday (February 3) we’re off to one of our patented hands-on faith mall trips.
